Oral hygiene

What can you do if you have bad breath?

  • Regularly clean your teeth after breakfast and especially before going to bed in the evening in the way your dentist recommended.
  • Use floss in order to effectively remove plaque from the inter dental spaces that are hard to reach and thoroughly brushing.
  • Wash your tongue gently with a brush to remove dead cells and bacteria.
  • Regularly visit Periodontologist to remove plaque and tartar as well as to check whether you have bleeding and periodontal pockets.
  • Drink plenty of liqids.
  • Chew sugar-free gum, especially when a toothbrush is not available or you have a ‘dry mouth’ feeling.
  • Clean your mouth after you eat milk, meat, fish.
  • Pay attention whether you have bad breath.

Smoking and bad breath
There are several reasons for so called ‘Smoker’s breath’.

  • Tar and nicotine build up on the surface of the mouth, teeth, tongue, cheeks
  • Smoking dries the mouth, as it reduces the release of saliva, which makes the growth of bacteria that cause bad breath easier.
  • Smoking may worsen the inflammation of the gums and aggravate the condition of the sinus (nasal obstruction) which also leads to bad breath.

How bad habits can affect your smile?
Let’s admit it, bad habits have a negative effect on your smile. Many people have a habit that can ruin even the most brilliant smile. How can you get this? Very often the result of the bad habits is a tooth cracking and breaking.
